Here is a fishing float / bobber that can be used for a variety of fishing applications. The smaller version does not need supports. The Larger version should have supports. I went overkill on them as this was my 1st time using organic supports. I had about 50/50 success on printing the larger float without supports. I increased the base diameter to help overcome this.
The STL will need to be scaled down. I originally modeled this to be 6" tall. To get a 3.5" float, scale to 60% or so. The 5.5" version was a 90% scale. The 3.5" version can take about 2 oz of weight before it starts to sink. I would imagine the 5.5" could take about 5 to 7 oz. The urethane versions of the 6" float can hold about 14 oz.
Printed on MK3s with PLA and the generic PLA settings with .020 quality with a .04 nozzle. .15 really helps reduce the z axis line. I used 5% infill. I
This is a rapid prototype and is a great STL to resin print to use as a master for Urethane floats.
With PLA, they do not leak and seem to hold up pretty well outdoors. PETG would be a better choice if you plan on using them outside, long term. I hope you have fun with them.
