This is a wall mount for the 3L and 10L variety of the IKEA HÅLLBAR line of garbage bins. On the back there is space for two big tesa powerstrips or 3M command strips. The tesa powerstrips can hold 2kg each, so the weight of the bin souldn't be an issue.

The mount for the 10L variety has a bit more distance from the wall to accommodate the longer bottom of the bin. I installed felt pads to the lower edge of the bins to not scratch the board the bins are mounted to.

Becaus the bins were swiveling a bit left and right i designed optional wings left and right of the mount to rest the bin on and prevent movement. For the moment i stuck them on with a rather weak doublesided tape. Lets see how long they stick. If the swiveling doesn't bother you, the wings can be omitted. Finaly i added a label which bin goes where.

I got the idea and most of the shape from the original model by @Tom_8875 and have reconstructed it in CAD. I added more area on the back to make room for two tesa powerstrips and removed the screwholes.

One thing currently not ideal is that especially on the 3L Variant the lid doest't stay open because it is to close to the wall. But that is not a big problem for me.

My print settings:

  • PETG
  • 40% Infill (but 20% should also be enough)
  • 0,2mm Layer height (if the tape you use is not that good to adapt to the stairstepping, maybe print the top most ot the mount in 0,1mm)
  • Surface looking at the wall: upside // Opposite side on the print bed.
  • No supports

ToDo for the next version:

  • Unify wings and mount into one piece (needs redesign to prevent overhangs that need supports)
  • Add option with screw holes.
  • Make distance from wall a bit more, so the lid can sit open.
