Numerous models for knobs are available out there, yet I sought to create one as a simple 3D modeling exercise. Moreover I wanted a knob that could comfortably fit in my hand.
This part was printed using Bambu Lab's PLA-CF and Fillamentum's PLA Extrafill Pearl Ruby Red.
The PLA-CF printed knob exhibited a more secure fit compared to Fillamentum's PLA (probably due to added carbon fibers); however, both variants effectively fulfill their intended functions.
I used this model on the disc sander my dad is making at the moment. We added a threaded insert in wood and used an M6 bolt in the knob.
Also for enhanced structural integrity you could increase the number of wall layers. I printed the model with the default settings in Bambu studio (2 wall loops) which I think should be plenty since in my case it will be used to stop the table from moving and it won't hold any weight.
