Nozzle recommended tightening torque is 1.5-2.0 Nm. This torque tool add-on helps you to estimate needed force.

Printing PLA, three walls and four top&bottom layers, I get ~1.75 Nm

After the print you should calibrate the tool. You can use e.g. kitchen scale.

  1. Place wrench with the inserted torque tool on the scale
  2. Zero the scale
  3. See the (small hole) marker on the tool (r=70mm)
  4. Push on marker position towards the wrench till tool touch it
  5. Read the scale, expected value should be about:
    • 2.50kg (5.6 lb) equals 1.75 Nm
    • 2.86kg (6.4 lb) → 2.0 Nm
    • 2.14kg (4.2 lb)→1.5 Nm
  6. If the reading is more what you're expecting adjust the printing parameters. Increasing needed force (torque tuning) you can put scotch tape layers under the root section.
