Note
The files have 2 wedge holes either side, the photo has 3 as this is what I have used for my design as it increases stiffness.
About
This is a stronger version of the frame / base that forms the underside of the Babo system. There is the standard base / frame, with an increased cross-section to increase the stiffness of the part. And there is a base / frame for the plate module, which is significantly stiffer due to an increase height of the main cross-section that is enabled by the plate module design. The increase in stiffness is noticeable. Whether you need it depends on you, hundreds (probably thousands?) of users are perfectly happy with the initial design.
Essentially the Babo system is 2 very stiff side beam, with a semi stiff rear panel, open top, open front and weak base. This attempts to strengthen the base part which will also improve the stiffness across the front/between the 2 side beams.
The weak point now becomes the wedge screw fixing area on the frame, you could model a 3rd screw wedge on each side if you were inclined to (as shown in the image).
Obviously, all this adds material and components to a design that was supposed to be lightweight, so bear that in mind. The 2nd photo shows the difference in size between the General base / frame from Willi and the Plate Module base/frame.
Both frames have been printed, installed and compared to the original design (noting I am using the 6 bolt version which I won't be sharing as this requires an edit in the side panels, which are the fundamental parts of Willi's work) and are I believe identical in geometry at the interface points.
There are 2 files, one for the plate module and one for everything else, the plate module base is not useable on the drawer modules.
Remix Note
I am aware the Babo Drawer Module model does not allow remix culture, I have modelled this from scratch myself, but it is obviously a copy of the Babo frame, just stronger/stiffer/more material. And I thought others may want this frame as well to increase the stiffness of the system along the front edge. I have not credited it as a remix as I am unsure if this is correct or not noting the license, I am happy to do so, or take it down (which seems daft considering it's not a whole model) and people are still required to use most of Willi's work.
