This is a heavy-duty version of the clothes hanger that I designed. For lightweight items like shirts etc, the standard clothes hanger is more than sufficient and uses a lot less material. These are a great way to use up spool ends or filament that isn't going to be used for anything else.

The design can be printed stacked. You will need a relatively large 3D printer. I'm printing them diagonally on my Prusa XL.

I have uploaded a single hanger and a 5 stack. The 5 stack has a small 0.2mm gap between each part, so they should be able to be separated after printing.

Printing Instructions

The only important thing is to use 0.2mm layers. If you use a thicker layer height the slicer might treat some or all of the stack as one solid part since it has to round each height to the nearest layer. Also, the staked printing for parts of this size doesn't work well with warp-prone materials like ASA and ABS. I'd stick to materials like PLA and PETG for stacked printing and print one at a time for materials like ASA or ABS. Other than that, it doesn't really matter, but I'd recommend using 4-5 perimeters maybe more depending on how heavy the clothes you will hang on them are.

Updates

v5 - Jan 14, 2023

  • Reduced the size of the internal hook as it was a bit too large and interfered with passing bulkier items through the hanger.
