When my daughter was younger I gave her a toilet paper tube with "1x" written on the side and told her it was a Macroscope – by looking through it she could see things at their actual size.
It's kind of been a running gag in the family ever since.
Here's an updated version of the macroscope:
- 40mm x 100mm
- 15mm aperture
- 1x magnification
- reticle
The one pictured was printed with layer color changes
