These adaptors fit into clips (that usually hold those long plastic shades) that enable you to hang curtains on them. For installation they just snap into place!
For my own setup, I installed an adaptor into basically every other clip. The blackout curtains I have weigh about 10-15 lbs so as long as you have a hook located at every hanging spot on the curtain, they should be strong enough to support the curtain.
