Its just a teaser until I finalize all parts and write an adequate description for it.
The AMS system mostly sits on the top of the printer on the photos you see. And this is more or less the ideal placing for it in regards of functionality. On the other hand it has several negative effects like:
- Not seeing enough inside
- Practically impossible to operate on the printhead - or really, on anything inside - without removing the AMS system and putting it away
- I'm pretty sure the input shaping system works better without an 8kg ballast on the top of the printer.
The shelf I designed has 2 position:
- 1 is the normal working position when the AMS system placed horizontally at some distance from the top of the printer
- 2 is when the AMS system is raised and turned upwards at a 30° angle giving space to comfortably access the inside of your printer.
Printed from Bambu Lab Grey PetG 0.6mm nozzle, 3 walls, 4 top, 4bottom layers, 15% gyroid infill.
Additional needs: about 2.5m of Stainless steel tube 16mm diameter, 0.5mm wall thickness. (Curtain rods)
I've also uploaded a step file with the whole assembly as it is right now for the capable and curious :)
It works, but looks like I've cut a bit close. You see those two screws in the wall. I had to remove them, because the AMS top cover hit them. It's OK with the screw removed, but I think I'll add another 5mm-s wall distance for the final version.
