This hinge jig is to be used with Coastal 314 Stainless External Hinges. These hinges measure 76mm x 26mm which is slightly deeper compared to a standard 3 inch hinge that measures 76mm x 19mm.
Ive allowed 80mm either side of the hinge mortice to give the perfect spacing from the top and bottom of a Window Sash.
The hinge mortice part of the jig is 45mm deep and 17mm thick to allow the jig to comfortably be used on the window frame without your router catching on your rebates.
To use on the window sash you will clamp the hinge jig flush with the top and bottom of the sash.
On the frame you will push the hinge jig tight up against a packer the same thickness of your margin, whether that be 3 or 4mm so when you attach the sash it sits perfectly in the frame.
