Filament sensor body with reverse bowden connector via PC4-M6 fitting.

You can use this to bring the filament for example from under or over a table via pass though.

Black PETG is recommended, PLA works too. The sensor contains an optic element, which requires an opaque material to work.

Instructions:

  • Print with 0.2 layer hight, no supports needed
    • You can use the other existing parts, or print new ones (see the prusa print for other parts)
  • Screw in the PC4-M6 fitting with a socket wrench, get in straight
  • Disassemble the your current filament sensor
    • Check assembly guide from prusa website
    • Magnets may be hard to remove from the original body, it may be destroyed in the process!
    • You may mark the magnets with a marker pen before removing, thou they are easy to align
    • Mind the metal ball inside the body, so it will not drop and get missing
  • Reassemble
    • Check assembly guide from prusa website
    • When inserting magnets, and check they repulse each other
  • Insert reverse bowden tube
