As many can attest, sourcing an M4x4mm Socket Head screw is unusually difficult on Amazon at the moment. I did find some M4x4mm 10.9 Alloy Steel Button Head Hex Socket Cap at a pretty reasonable price. The head of these are of course larger than the knurled version, but with a 7.5mm recess and a few adjustments to the filament channel, I was able to get great results on my Bambu Lab P1S with a .4mm nozzle, .08mm High Quality profile using Arachne vs classic walls. There is a notch at the top that is left open slightly, which should not affect performance at all. (Printing with a .2mm nozzle might resolve that, but I have not tested that on this version.)
Just like @Kevin_1268061 's original, when you load these into the AMS, you need to make sure they are on the right side in order to avoid the guide channel that is on the lower left side.
All credit goes to Kevin as all I did was adapt it to use either style of M4x4 heads.
- You will need to apply a slight amount of force when you push the screw into the hole, as it is intentionally snug as I found myself repeatedly dropping the screws and chasing them across my office floor when it was any looser. It's much easier to line up to the holes on the spool as well.
