Why
I have these High5 electrolyte tablets, which come in a long sleeve. The sleeve has a lid containing desiccant, to keep them dry, as they are hygroscopic.
But this sleeve is quite long, and cumbersome if you just want to pack a handful of (4) tablets in a small bag.
What
So I designed this insert, for a standard pop-cap film canister. The bottom tray holds some desiccant, and the top retainer “fingers” hold four electrolyte tablets above, with just enough clearance to pop the lid closed.
Parameters
Original Fusion 360 file attached, with the following parameters:
| Parameter | Value | Description |
|---|---|---|
| electrolyte_D | 25.7 mm | Diameter of the electrolyte tablet |
| canister_D | 30.2 mm | Inner diameter of the film canister |
| desiccant_H | 18 mm | Total height of the desiccant tray (bottom) |
| desiccant_wall_thickness | 0.9 mm | Thickness of desiccant tray walls |
| electrolyte_H | 23 mm | Height of electrolyte tablet stack |
| fingers_degree | 10 deg | Width of four tablet retainer “fingers” |
| draft_angle | 1.5 deg | Slight taper to desiccant tray, to fit canister |
