The model

The Shiva Arrow Clip allows keeping a set of arrows together, whether in an arrow tube or for storage. You can clip 6 or 9 arrows on the outside of the model and even fit an extra arrow in the middle. Thus the naming 6+1 or 9+1.

The model is made to fit within a 80mm arrow tube. You should print 2 clips to keep a set of arrows together.

Shiva ?

I let you guess, add your thoughts to the comments :)

The +1

The model allows storing an extra arrow in the middle. That give you room for one more arrow of you can use an old broken arrow/shaft to keep the clips together.

Extra material

Nothing !

No screw - No glue - No support.

Model files

Currently, you can find the following models:

  • 9.30mm 9+1
  • 9.30mm 6+1
  • 5.80mm 9+1

If your arrows are not exactly of the dimensions above, print the closest clip and refer to the “Size Adjustement” section below.

To test the fit, you want the arrow NOT to rotate freely once clipped.

Chose between 9+1 and 6+1

If you use small fletching, you can use the 9+1 version. For larger fletching, you will want more room in the tube and should go for the 6+1 versions.

Printing tips

The print is simple and requires no support. You should avoid using brims (if you do, have fun removing it in the small areas :)). If you think you need a brim to improve adhesion for PLA prefer bumping the bed temp of +5 degrees to 65 degrees or up to 70 degress.

I tested this model with 15% infill. If you increase or reduce the infill amount too much, you will change the stiffness of the clips and may end up with clips that will no longer flex enough to let the arrow shaft clip in.

Size adjustement

Once you clip an arrow and hold the arrow, the clip should not be able to slide or rotate around the arrow. It should pinch the arrow as little as possible but not be lose.

Depending on your printer and arrows, the fit may not be perfectly what you expect.

Worry not ! there is an easy solution.

Using a heat gun, set around 150-170 degrees for PETG, you hold a clip with a plier and warn up the clips until you feel it soften. Immediately once it does, you will feel your plier close the clip. Stop the heat immediately and maintain the clip in position with the plier until it cools down. Rince and repeat for all clips, and don't forget the once “hidden” in the middle :)
Once you are done, let le part cool down completely then test again clipping some arrows.

Do not try speeding up the process with more heat or more pressure… that will not end up well :)
