Simple rain sensor for my HomeMatic home automation system. It does not have a heated plate, so it is not suitable for very high humidity (false rain alarm when water condenses on the sensor plate) and it takes some time to dry and sense “no rain” after it stopped raining. I use it to close the shutters of a window I leave open during nights in summer if it starts to rain… Since I am not very good at coding, I just used the sketch for the HM-SEC-WDS ( https://github.com/pa-pa/AskSinPP/blob/master/examples/HM-SEC-WDS/HM-SEC-WDS.ino . It provided everything I needed including low-power support. The rain sensor plate can be found here: https://www.az-delivery.de/products/regen-sensor-modul I connected it directly to the sensor pin, without the control module from AZ. Everything else is pretty much the basic setup from https://asksinpp.de .
4 M3x6 screws needed to fix the sensor plate.

The case is designed the be as water proof as possible without using a seal or something. It might not be the worst idea to put some clear varnish on the shell and cover even though there are no flat surfaces on the case where water would be able to accumulate and infiltrate. The prototype is in use for a few month now and is still working nicely.

Printed with Prusament PETG. No supports needed, just arrange properly (see 3mf).
