This is a small project to create a winding machine for my wife. It works well and is low-cost compared to market alternatives. All parts can be printed without the need for support structures. The part that holds the spool has a threaded section to facilitate assembly. One of the threads works counterclockwise to prevent it from getting loose while spinning.
I used some old 3D printer parts that I had lying around, so I don't have a link for the rods. However, they are 8mm rods, which can be easily found on Amazon.
For the motor, I purchased this specific one, and the mount is adjusted for it. However, I believe that other sewing machine motors would also work. The specific one I purchase is : https://www.amazon.ca/dp/B09R3T32VS?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details
For bearings to the support for the spool is : https://www.amazon.ca/dp/B08XVFSZTF?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details
