So you washed your boxing wraps, but do you dread winding them up by hand into little spools?  The Master Wrap Machine 5000 does this for you in no time!

Features:

  • Simple, robust, functional design.  Build to last.
  • Handles a wide variety of hand wraps of different thickness and lengths.
  • Left-handed and right-handed use possible due to symmetric design.
  • Efficient: winding a single 180 inch adult wrap end-to-end takes less than 30 seconds.
  • Model file is included (FreeCAD).

Printing instructions:

  • I recommend to print the winch oriented with the end of the short handle on the baseplate, using supports.
  • Material should be PLA, ABS, or ASA.
  • The machine base has a large base and can benefit from glue stick to ensure first layer adhesion.
  • The machine can be printed with or without supports; I used supports for the winch holes.

Usage instructions:

  1. Boxing hand wraps are always wrapped with the closing mechanisms inside (e.g. velcro strap), so take that end and insert it from the bottom of the machine through the slit.
  2. Move the winch through one of the holes.
  3. Spread the two bars of the winch slightly and fix the closing end of the boxing hand wrap to it (see pictures).
  4. Push the winch all the way through the second hole.
  5. With the slit facing you and the spool facing away from you, turn the handle away from you (away at the top of the rotation cycle).  This is best done on top of a table, with one hand holding the whole machine and the other turning the handle.
  6. While turning, maintain a slight tension on the handwrap and try to keep it flat.
  7. Once completely wound up, grab the wrap and slide the winch out.
  8. Done.
