Princess Leia bas-relief
Age: Princess Leia appears to be in her late 20s or early 30s in the bas-relief. This suggests the artwork depicts her sometime during her time as a leader in the New Republic.
Commission: The bas-relief was commissioned by the grateful citizens of the Core World Chandrila, Leia's adopted homeworld. After the New Republic's victory over the Empire, Leia played a pivotal role in rebuilding Chandrila and restoring peace to the region. The bas-relief serves as a symbol of their appreciation for her leadership and dedication.
Artist: The renowned sculptor responsible for the bas-relief is Anya Antilles, a close friend of Leia since their time together in the Rebel Alliance. Anya, the sister of the late Wedge Antilles, met Leia on Yavin 4 and quickly formed a bond with her. Despite their contrasting backgrounds - Anya, a skilled artist from a noble family, and Leia, the princess turned rebel leader - they shared a deep respect and understanding for each other.Anya's artistic vision captured Leia's strength, determination, and compassion in the bas-relief. More than just a physical representation, the artwork embodies the enduring legacy of Princess Leia and her impact on the galaxy.
