When looking for a some coat hooks for our hallway I happened across “toughooks” on Amazon. I really liked the style and thought it would be fun to design my own version so here it is. This probably not as strong as the original toughook, but printed on its side and in PETG it's probably strong enough for most uses

Printing tips:

  • PETG recommended as it's less brittle and less likely to sag over time
  • Print on it's side to take advantage of the natural strength of the layers
  • No supports required. The screw holes print fine without them in my opinion
  • Gyroid infill or similar is probably a good idea for strength in all dimensions
  • That being said, much of the strength comes from the perimeters, so I don't believe there's any need to go overboard with infill
  • Try a variety of different colours!

Full disclosure - I haven't yet been able to test this “in the field” as I've decided I want to mount a few hooks on a piece of wood and then mount that to the wall so I need to wait for the wood
