I wanted to find out how thin the printer can print and whether something extremely thin can hold up. For this, I've conducted the ultimate test. I've created and tested 5 models for this purpose:
Material: PLA
IS → Input Shaper
N → Nozzle diameter
L → Layerheigth
T → Thickness of the test area -150mmx80mm-
- PLA+IS
Nozzle = 0,4mm
Layerheight = 0,2mm
Thickness = 0,4mm
- *PLA
Nozzle = 0,4mm
Layerhight = 0,2mm
Thickness = 0,2mm
- PLA
Nozzle = 0,4mm
Layerhight = 0,1mm
Thickness = 0,2mm
- PLA
Nozzle = 0,4mm
Layerhight = 0,05mm
Thickness = 0,1mm
- PLA
Nozzle = 0,4mm
Layer = 0,05mm
Thickness = 0,05mm
! The numbering of the test objects in the photos are as follows:
Left/Top= 1. | Right/Bottom = 5.
*GCode is with multicolor beginning with layer 6 (after 39 minutes)
