Build a mechanical display that cycles through the numbers 0-9 by turning a crank.
Do you love building mechanical contraptions?
Complicated looking gear trains that click and hum to perform a task?
Then this design is for you !
However, beware. It is not for the faint-hearted. The assembly instructions
are 26 pages long :o and the counter is comprised of over 100 parts.
NB: The counter only counts in one direction, up. It cannot be wound backwards. If you'd like it to count down instead, you can use the included reverse gear set.
You will need a few screws and small nails to assemble it (see image above) but the included assembly instructions (pdf) will walk you through the process step by step.
If you are versed in electronics and want to take it even further you can install a motor and drive it automatically.
Dimensions: 107x169x98mm
Printing
I printed all my counters with 0.2mm layers in PLA on an Ender3 without much fuss.
Hope you enjoy!
