I had a lot of fun with this toy as a child - time to bring it back to life!

All you need is your 3D printer, a plastic bag and some string.

The two half-shells with the hinge are printed in place - no screws or glue, although support is required. The overall layer height is 0.3mm to speed things up a bit, but the thread and hinge section require a higher resolution, so paraball.3mf contains two height modifiers:

  •      0 -   9.5 mm → 0.2 mm layer height (external thread for parachute mount)
  • 36.5 - 50.0 mm → 0.1 mm layer height (hinge section)

PETG is the material to go for.

There are many tutorials on how to make a parachute - I used this one. It's easy and takes only a few minutes.

By limiting the number of parachute attachment cords to eight, they fit easily into the parachute mount.

   - enjoy -
