This luxory version of a foot massager features three large ball bearing rollers with knobs which activate the acupressure points on the sole. This massager can be placed beneath your desk and used, whenever you feel the need for “sole stimulation”- particularily during long web conferences ;-). Its stable construction allows quite strong pressure to be exerted while sitting.
Bill of Material
Printed parts:
- 3 x Rolls and Spacer (both parts can be found in the same STL file)
- 2 x Frame
Non-printed parts:
- 6 x radial ball bearings 1605/5 (inner=5mm/outer=16mm/thickness=5mm)
- 3 x steel shaft diameter=5mm/length=135mm
- 4 x M3x12 screws (or longer)
- 4 x M3 washer
- 8 x rubber feet (~12 mm diameter)
- 4 x threaded heat insets (M3x5)
Printing Instructions
I recommend to print the rolls (and spacer) and the frame parts in different colours. The model on display was printed with wood PLA for the rolls and black PLA for the frame.
Use 3 perimeter, 15% gyroid infill to obtain stronger parts. I printed the parts with a 0.6mm nozzle.
You will need to print three sets of the rolls (and spacer) and two of the frame part.
Assembly
Melt the threaded heat insets into the frame parts (2 insets each).
Glue the rubber feet to the bottom of the frames (4 feet on each frame).
Cut the steel shafts to the required length (135mm) and sand down the ends. Although some tolerance was added to the models you probably need to drill the holes in the rolls with a 5mm drill from both sides. Insert the shatfs in the hole and add one spacer to the flat side of the roll (both sides should now have a small 2mm raised ring) The shaft should stick out the same length on both sides. Add a ball bearing at each of the protruding shafts ends.
