A filter that fits on the lens hood mount of the Sigma 100-400mm lens. The front of the filter is 80mm square (because squares are easier to cut out than circles). The print also includes a cap that can screw into the bottom and a lid that goes on top to keep the filter protected in transit.
I printed the screw cap and the filter in PLA. I'm not sure if PLA will hold up well to direct sunlight, so another more heat resistant plastic may be better. The soft lid is printed in TPU. .2mm layer height and a .4mm nozzle. All prints can be made without supports.
You'll need to get some solar filter film, I got ThousandOaksOptical stuff off of amazon, and cut an 80x80mm square. Place it in the filter area and put some glue in the corners to hold it down. I tried super glue and it released from the film, so something like rubber cement will probably work better.
