switch box for EMBER CXC camera (https://www.emberprototypes.com/products/cxc). This allows a push on latching toggle switch to be installed in the usb cable and hard mounted to standard 2020 aluminum extrusions so that the camera can be turned off when not in use preserving the lifespan of the LEDs included with the camera.

In order to use this switch box you will need 1 microswitch, 2 M3 heat set inserts and 2 M3x15mm socket head screws, 1 m4 screw and 1 m4 t-nut

Microswitches (pack of 50) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B086L2GPGX?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details

You will need to cut out a section ~1in long in the middle of the USB cable (how far from the EMBER end of the cable depends on the specifics of your layout, see pictures)

you will then cut the red wire, strip both ends and solder to either side of the switch.

You will then bend the leads of the switch 90degreed and install into the lid of the switch box (a drop or 2 of CA glue is optional, the box is designed to hold the switch in place during use).

you will install the m3 heat set inserts into the bottom of the box (i installed them from the bottom since the screws will come in from the top).

Set up the m4 bolt and t-nut and mount the bottom of the box to your preferred spot on the t-slot.

Put the lid  of the switch box with the switch and wires installed over the base, and install with 2xm3 socket head screws.  ensure that the black insulation is captured by the edges of the box for strain relief and tighten the m3 screws, this will clamp the wire in place preventing the solder joints and wire from being stressed.
