So this model is mostly for people downloading my designs for the Honeycomb Storage Wall (HSW), and for anyone else wishing to check the tolerance of their hexagons in the HSW. I use a simple hexagon to keep my designs in the wall, if the tolerance is picked correctly it will fit in snugly as well as be easily removable.
The reason why this specific 3d model was created is because I noticed that when I printed the Hexagon wall in PETG and then tried fitting in some of designs i printed out of PLA I had the fit a bit too lose for my liking. My printer actually printed a bit larger holes than I expected, this is mostly due to PETG shrinkage I would say and not a problem of the HSW design. So in order to keep my designs in the wall I personally use a 19.85mm peg tolerance, however the standard tolerance design used by most is 19.7mm.
Some of my designs will offer several tolerances for the mount. And in order to not waste anyone's time figuring out which one to pick I created this simple check. Just print it on a side like in the picture, since this is how most designs will print the peg and test it on your wall. Based on the peg that fits best pick the design version which you like from my designs.
Again it is important to print it on the longer side, I have tried printing the design upwards and it did not give me a proper result. When hexagons are printed on the side they can sag a bit and thus this is what you are looking for since most direct mount designs are printed on the peg side.
