I am making a box to hold a class-D amp, and a raspberry-pi to serve as a “smart amp” with snapcast in my hobby room. You could also put volumio or something similar on there
Components
List of components, with examples of what I am using. They do not have to be those exact components, you can swap out most things, and design a new carrier board.
- Raspberry Pi
- D class amplifier
- Binding posts
- Power Switch
- Power Socket
- Buck Converter
- Rotary Encoder
- Stereo Audio Isolator
- Assortment of wires etc
- a 12 to 32V power supply or old laptop brick, that can output at least 50W or so.
The audio isolator goes between the r-pi audio out, and the amp audio in, to stop ground loops, because the buck converter that supplies the pi 5V has a shared ground plane.
Very much a work in progress.
