With my first printer, I initially used a metal bed scraper, but over time, it began damaging my print bed. Seeking an alternative, I turned to a 3D printed version I found on Printables. While it served its purpose initially, it dulled and eventually broke sooner than expected.
Determined to find a lasting solution, I decided to design my own scraper with an interchangeable blade. Given my passion for designing and bringing creations to life, I set out to create the ErgoBlade MK1.
My goal was to craft something durable, easy to handle, and equipped with an exchangeable blade. To achieve this, I constructed the core from PLA, incorporating a secure click system for the blade, and used TPU/Flex for the outer rubber handle. I designed finger grooves for ergonomic comfort and opted for a 15% infill on the TPU/Flex part.
As for printing instructions:
- Print the blade and handle using PLA, and the outer rubber handle using TPU/Flex.
- For the inner handle, I recommend printing at a 45-degree angle and using organic support (Gcode included for this purpose).
- The TPU part should have a 15% infill, but feel free to experiment; a higher percentage will increase hardness but may make it difficult to fit onto the inner handle.
- The outer handle fits tightly onto the inner handle intentionally to prevent it from coming loose; simply work it on.
I've also pictured a hook in one of the images, sourced from: Tool Hook for i3 MK3S.
Please let me know if anything breaks or if there are any issues, as I'm always eager to learn and improve.
