Spinning mandala decoration I created for the geometric wall art contest. The model is fully printed in multiple parts making it easy to print in mix of colors.
You will need to print:
Base x1
Spinner x2
Shaftx1
Spacer x4
Outside the models provided you will need two 608 Bearings (I used these printed ones).
The shaft was printed with 4 walls and 40 gyroid infill. Everything else had 3 walls and 10% gyroid. I printed the spacers and shaft with a brim, the shaft also needs to be laying down with a little support between the bits at the tip. I printed the spinners face up with full supports underneath but could probably be printed face down without (haven't tested yet). The base was printed face down with some supports but they might not be necessary.
When assembling the shaft will slide through the base, then the order goes; bearing, spinner, spacerx2, bearing, spinner, spacer x2 then finish with the end cap. The shaft is a very snug fit and can be scaled down a few percent in your slicer if needed.
There are grooved sections on the back of the base for adhesive strips but can also be hung from nail/tack.
Overall I'm happy with this finished product but I can already think of improvements/upgrades I would like to make. Please let me know what you think and share pictures if you print!
