Commemorate your Eclipse experience with an ornament you can hand out to friends and family. The best part is the sun is eclipsed when you tilt the ornament!
Print the base piece at 0.2mm layers. It can be printed with MMU or Multi Material Single Extruder settings and you want the sun circle as shown in the pictures. Otherwise you can print with one color or do color swaps to make the whole oval a different color.
Print the face piece at either 0.1mm or use variable layer heights because it has a VERY gradual curve. I just couldn't bring myself to make it flat. Use a color change at the last 0.4mm if you want the painted look like in the picture. Or just paint yours afterward.
- There are two Faces you can choose from:
- The regular version will fit loosely and you'll need CA glue
- The “friction” version is a permanent friction fit and needs no glue. A warning though: depending on your tolerances, yours may or may not fit.
Print the black circle piece at 0.2mm. I made my top infill Archimedean Chords just for fun.
The face and base are keyed so everything is aligned properly.
Enjoy!
