This is a knob for an M5 bolt.  I wanted something that didn't use the heat inserts and I wanted the nut to be buried.  So I designed this based off of a matchfit knob.

You have to insert a pause exactly at 8mm.  At this point you insert the nut carefully and then resume the print. I put the nut on the plate when the print started to “pre-heat” the nut.  I don't know if that's necessary or not.

You have to make sure the nut is recessed below the last layer printed.  I suggest printing only the bottom half first and test for the fit of the nut.  You may have to modify the file to increase the depth of the cut for the nut or the size of the nut.  You don't want too tight of a fit or you risk breaking off the part from the plate. Both of these are parameters in the fusion file.

I designed these based off of a kit here: https://a.co/d/2NWjssk  YMMV with size..

I printed the “tee nuts” from this file: https://www.printables.com/model/727936-microjig-matchfit-dovetail-fixture-bits-knobs

I printed with basic PLA, 3 walls, 0.2mm layer height.
