My daughter snapped the original plastic fitting in half. I used an ANSI square thread with a 21.67mm nominal diameter and 3.5mm pitch (very not standard but hey the CAD software lets me type anything I want in) to approximate whatever odd thread is on the original part. It's visibly different but threaded in well. This fit over the wooden post tight enough that I didn't need any glue. I ended up cutting it shorter rather than try to get the original one off.
It works printed both threads up and threads down, but threads up gives a cleaner thread. I used organic support inside the cup only in the threads up orientation, no support for threads down. I used a brim for adhesion on both but you might get away without. 0.2 layer height PETG 4 perimeters 15% grid infill is what worked for me.
