After hollowing out Flowalistik's Low-Poly Eevee, I added an opening on the bottom and holes on the top for salt transferrence. Throw a connector cap on there and you've got something useful and cute!

The cap isn't 100% salt-tight, but it does the job; feel free to remix or suggest some changes.

Not sure why OBJs on Thingiverse sometimes render themselves sideways. Place upright before slicing.

How I Designed This

Hollow the Part

Fusion 360 couldn't apply a Thickness but there had to be a way. I spent about 4 hours before finding anything that worked.
Used Meshmixer (Windows and Mac only, currently).

Model a connector

I used TinkerCAD; simple enough and what I'm familiar with. I plan on learning Fusion 360 more, though.
Used the Hole function to cut out salt dispenser openings and the entire clicky mechanism for the cap.
