Dear Fellow 3D printers

Inspired by the magnetic toys on the internet, I designed 1 myself.

I have a desk pad that has metal in it, which helps with this toy.

Without a metal surface, it won't work. Think of a sheet of metal with a diameter of 10 to 12 cm.

What you'll need:

4 round magnets with a slide. From 8 mm and a thickness of 3 mm

Possibly second or pla glue

Printing with PLA is sufficient:

  1. Print 3x rods with slide. 1.5 mm and length 150 mm – only a brim (gap 0.4)
  2. Print 1x rod with slide. 1.5 mm and length 130 mm – only a brim (gap 0.4)
  3. Print 4x the round barrel with 1 hole and on the other side an opening for a round magnet in it.
  4. Print the triangle with the 3 holes in it
  5. Print the triangle with roof with 1 hole in it

A magnet in each barrel, attaching it immediately after printing works best (pla shrinks a little).

Place the 3 rods of 150 mm in the triangle with the 3 holes and a barrel on each rod.

Place 1 barrel on 1 rod of 130 mm and place it in the triangle with roof.

See if gluing is needed, everything is already quite fixed (sand if necessary).

Place the roof on/in the triangle.

Remember to place a round or square metal plate of approx. 10 to 12 cm underneath the assembly.

Greets, Bert
