Print the roller vertically. I went a little crazy with 6 wall loops, 6 top and bottom shell layers, adaptive cubic and 15% infill with Tree Slim supports at 0.45mm xy distance to keep cleanup to a minimum. You likely won't get that crazy, it's just what I landed on after development. When building, you may need a little more force to get the bearing on the stem that contacts the build plate, it's just a small artifact on the base layer. If this bothers you, elevate the model slightly and print on supports but it's not too imposing.
The roller model is furnished in .3mf and .stl for convenience.
