I designed this after purchasing a Dremel PawControl nail grooming kit and being disappointed with the included guard.  It works with that product, but also many rotary tools made by Dremel and other brands.   This design is minimalist and robust.  The elliptical cutouts on the sides serve as finger grip features as well as inspection/cleaning holes.

PETG and PLA have both been tested with 0.2mm layer height.   Print the guard “paw side down” and the thread adapter with the female thread facing down.  No supports are required.

Due to space constraints, and to maximize strength, the threads between the parts are a custom profile.  4 or more perimeters are recommended, which results in some thread texture/ridging transferring to the outer surface.

If you have a printer with multi-material capability you can optionally make the “paw pads” with dark grey or black filament, and the remainder of the body with a contrasting color for aesthetics.

Recommend using with Dremel SD60-PGK EZ-Lock discs and EZ402 mandrel. Adjust disc height for ~ 0.5 mm gap from disc to inside of guard.
