This is designed to be used in-line with tubing for a vacuum and includes a removable filter and adjustment for suction.
When turned off, the dial diverts the suction from the tubing to the side of the housing. This avoids straining the motor and gives full adjustment from 0-100%.
This adjustment is important when dealing with highly fragile items like artworks and artifacts.
