Kombitron is an homage to the year of my life I lived in Brazil. The Volkswagen bus, or "Kombi" was ubiquitous no matter where I went: a workhorse with a little classic style. It's probably why the Brazilian people (and honestly the rest of the world) love them so much.

Kombitron prints in one piece with no support material or rafts and transforms right off the build plate.

Print Settings

Printer:

Dremel 3D40

Rafts:

No

Supports:

No

Resolution:

.2mm

Infill:

Gradual

Filament: PLA

Notes:

Kombitron will need to be oriented to print on his back. He should be scaled correctly. All of his joints have .4mm clearances. Do not print with support material or rafts unless you love pain. He prints in one piece all ready to transform and roll out!

How I Designed This

I haven't been able to make one of these transformers for a while, so I wanted to get my feet wet again, do something cool, and try out a few new things. Thus: Kombitron, the Volkswagen bus, or kombi, that transforms. Hopefully more transformers to come, as I quite enjoy making these.

Note: the Kombitron in the pictures is the first one I printed. I have edited the current .stl so that the Volkswagen badge on the front actually prints, as well as a few other cosmetic improvements.
