This model was based on another model, which I can't find any more, called “picture frame hanger L-shape”. The reason to create my own model was to have the option to screw it to the back of the frame and not just on the inside. In this model you can also specify the width of the teeth and the depth of the hook, so it can fit hooks on wires more robustly.
Update: added an option to add separator bars in case you're hanging the frame from a hook, rather than a nail or screw. I haven't tried it, it just occurred to me that it might be useful, it is an option in the openscad file.
Update 2025: added option to have "deep" holes for both versions inline and sideways, so you can still screw it into the wood when it's thin wood and too large screws. Pre-drill the hole though! This type of wooden frames tends to break when driving in a screw without pre-drilling.
