Raspberry Pi 1U Rack Mount is a great design and I extended it to accommodate a RPI 5.
Parts used are the same as @george's BOM here except use this PoE module: Waveshare PoE HAT (F)
Assembly:
- Attach the PoE Hat to the Pi (I did not use any standoffs or screws to attach the hat to the pi, the friction fit between the male headers and socket were sufficient.
- Attach the Pi (with PoE Hat) to the sled using M2.5 screws.
- Attach the 3mm foam tape to the back of OLED display.
- Slide the OLED display into the slot
- Use the header jumper wire to connect the OLED display and PoE Hat. I consulted this pinout to connect the jumper wires appropriately
- OLED GND → PoE Pin 9 (Ground)
- OLED VCC → PoE Pin 1 (3V3)
- OLED SDA → PoE Pin 3 (SDA)
- OLED SDL → PoE Pin 5 (SDL/SCL)
- Bend the utilized pins towards the pcb (optional)
- Slide the Pi Sled into one of the rack modules.
