Designed for a project requiring organization and inventory control of various digital media types in a common tray form-factor.

While this kit may not cover all media types of interest, hopefully the concept proves useful otherwise. If you have another media type not covered (or a bad fit to your media), message me or use the included parametrized FreeCAD file—I'll add configurations as able or appropriate.

Models

Trays: GoPro7, GoPro8, GoPro11, Powercore 26800, SD/µSD Case (8x43x53mm), SSDs (9.3, 7mm; thick, thin), and USB type-A media. Provided with & without sprues (all sprue parts end with “-S”).

Connectors: tray-to-tray cleats, as well as spacer connectors, 20-50mm in 10mm increments. Model tolerance is 0.15mm between press-fit faces, scale as needed or modify CleatV on the FreeCAD Dims sheet.

Printing Recommendations

Material: ABS or PLA preferred
Layer Height: 0.16-0.2mm
Top Layers: 4x
Walls: 2x
Bottom Layers: 3x
Seams: Nearest
Infill: >=5% gyroid
Brims: 5mm outside

In my experience, setting models 45deg counter-clockwise helps to lower ABS warping potential. If sprue models are used, cut w/diagonal cutters—don't just rip them off like a hungry rat (surely you know better?).

Assembly

Use either a connector to join trays or 2x cleats per connecting side. Press-fit magnets (6x2mm x4) if appropriate to your use-case.
