You maybe know the famous “Putting a square Peg in a Round Hole” from Apolo 13 mission.

Here we'll simply try to turn a triangle into square and without any duct tape

This dissection puzzle comes from the haberdasher's problem, created by Henry Dudeney.
This puzzle is based on the theorem of “equidecomposability” saying that any polygon can, after cutting into a finite number of parts, be reassembled to form any other polygon of the same area. Here a triangle cut into four parts and reassembled to a square.
Starting from here, I invite you to try to solve the problem before looking for the details and the solution over internet 😁
To design it I simply follow this pattern in Fusion 360

The model includes the puzzle itself (4 parts), the triangle box and its lid and then the square box to reassemble the puzzle
I printed it using PLA material with different colors. Any other material like PETG or ABS will do the job as there is no constraint at all
That should be the first part of a puzzle series, I'll design and print for a friend of mine who is a school teacher, based on mathematical and geometric concepts. So stay tuned
On top of .stl and .3mf files, I uploaded Fusion 360 .f3d and .step files so you can modify the design and adapt it to your needs
As usual, feedback and comments (and for sure "likes") will be always welcome. Feel free to post nice pictures of your makes
Enjoy
