This is a constructor for toddlers compatible with the original Theo Klein Toys tools, nuts and bolts as well as the excellent nut and bolt by @IamPy and parts by @topse that started this set (see remixed model).
This is a work in progress and started as playing with the original kit, then using modded parts, then designing my own.
Will update depending on the interest of the main user and available time :-)
WARNING: While aiming at toddlers and using parts, general precautions to child toys apply, the Theo Klein set is for 3+ years.
Updates:
- 2024-12-19: v2 with new components (u-plates, rods) and improved printability of all parts.
Wheel:
The wheels on the photos use an earlier version that I redesigned later to use larger parts. The new design requires additional shims to hold the wheel and roller in place. Attaching the cross-section for assembly, use two shims on both sides to hold the roller. The tire is optional but makes rolling on the hard floor easier.
Printing notes:
All parts are easy to print and don't need support. PLA for all parts except the wheel tyre (optional), for tyre I used 40D TPU and it worked well.
My print settings:
- Nozzle: 0.6
- Layer height: 0.3
- Shells: 2 (both horizontal and vertical)
- Infill: gyroid 15% infill
