A rocket shaped fish attractor that spins.  Use with attractor tape on the fins.

A flasher or dodger are commonly used when fishing for trout or kokanee.   Most dodgers will wobble in the water, causing flashes of light as well as noise to attract fish.  A spinning flasher such as this has less drag than a wobble flasher/dodger.

To rig, run a wire or a heavy mono leader (25-50# ) through the flasher, threading two beads at the bottom of the rocket - these allow it to spin.  Crimp or tie on a snap swivel at the bottom.  Crimp or tie an swivel at the top.  This makes the rocket flasher able to be reused and added to or removed from a fishing line easily.    The snap swivel at the back of the rocket is used to attach a lure on a leader.   The loop at the top is where your fishing line attaches.  Make the leader on the lure the appropriate length to allow the lure to develop full action (usually a few hands in length).

Cut stick-on attractor tape and fit to both sides of the rocket fins.  These provide the flash.  There are many great attractor tapes available in fishing stores, such as Hyper-Vis+ sparkling attractor tape (shown).

The grooves in the sides of the rocket are meant for smearing some fishing scent, and to also slow the spin to a gentle spin.

To Print:

Easy to print.  The provided .3mf file shows the orientation suggested for printing - nose up and fins aligned on your printers moving bed main axis (for Prusa FFF, that is Y axis).  No supports or brim is required if you have good first layer adhesion dialed in.  Suggested to go with 3 perimeters and 5 or 10% gyroid infill.  If printed in a clear filament, you get sunlight sparkling through the flasher in addition to the sparkle of an attractor tape.

PETG or ABS are suggested as well, to get better longevity outdoors on a hot day.   PLA will melt or sag … which may provide interesting wobbles :)
