Ještěd Tower Hotel – 3D Printable Model

This model represents the iconic Ještěd Tower Hotel, a unique architectural landmark located near Liberec in the Czech Republic. Designed by architect Karel Hubáček and completed in 1973, the structure combines a hotel, restaurant, and television transmitter into one distinctive hyperboloid form. Its futuristic design earned international recognition, including the prestigious Auguste Perret Prize.

The model captures the characteristic tapered silhouette and structural detailing of the tower, making it a great display piece for architecture enthusiasts, railway model layouts, or anyone who appreciates unusual engineering.

Printing Tips

If you plan to print this model in a larger scale, the upper narrow section can be fragile and prone to snapping during or after printing. To avoid that:

  • Cut the model at the point where the narrow upper section begins.

  • Split the top (thin) section lengthwise into two halves.

  • Print these halves lying flat on the build plate for better strength and layer adhesion.

  • Glue the two halves together after printing.

  • Finally, attach the assembled top section to the main body of the model.

This approach significantly improves durability and reduces the risk of breakage during handling.
