Here is a better way to mount the touchscreen on your Magneto when you have the enclosure. The doors won't scrap against the edge of the screen, and you can cover the gaping cutout on the front door of the top section.

Assembly:

  1. Attach the standoffs to the back plate by reusing the long button head screws. There are two versions of the standoff: one straight vertical and the other slightly angled. I use the angled version because I set the printer on a table and look up at the screen.
  2. Attach the PCB to the back plate by reusing the short button head screws. Take care not to pull either of the ribbon cables.
  3. Attach the back plate to the touch screen. You will also need 4x M3x10mm screws. I used button head screws, but socket screws will work just as well. WARNING: Do not use anything longer than an M3x10mm screw, and do not over-tighten. The screws can contact the back of the LCD and crack it. Do not do what I did.
  4. Attach the new bracket to the printer frame by reusing the M4 socket screws.
  5. Open the bottom of the printer to release the slack in the USB and HDMI cables. I needed a USB extension so that the cable could reach the new location of the screen.
  6. Notch or cut a hole for the cables to pass through on the acrylic top.
  7. Enjoy your new enclosure without the giant cutout on the top door.
