Spruce300 X Y and Z parts are here.

Fan duct is here.

This from-scratch design tries to replicate the bearing configuration of the Mk4, but for the SV06 Plus toolhead.

While the use of rubber pads to hold bearings works well, it is fiddly to set up just right.  I have also created a simple monoblock design as an alternative.

The Spruce300 mod changes the X rods to be 40mm center-to-center.  This carrier is not compabile with a stock SV06 Plus.

NON-PRINTED PARTS FOR TOOLHEAD CARRIER

3x M2.5-16 socket-head screws
3x M2.5 nuts
2x M3-16 socket-head screws
2x M3-16 flat-head/countersunk screw
2x M3-12 flat-head/countersunk screw
6x M3 nuts
1x M3 threaded insert

3x 24mm x 12mm x 1mm rubber pads

The rubber pads can be printed in TPU or cut from inexpensive rubber strips from AliExpress like https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005005900732831.html (1mm thick, 30mm wide).  They ended up being 1.1mm thick but seem to work ok.

PRINTING AND PREPARING PARTS

The supplied STL files are pre-oriented for printing.

Parts are intended to be printed in PETG.  Supports are not required.  I recommend 4 perimeters, 4 bottom layers, 6 top layers, and 30% grid infill.  When slicing, ensure that no seam will touch a bearing, rod, or extrusion.

You may need to clean holes with a drill bit, sand off bulging corners that contact other parts, etc.

Note the hole that adds a countersunk screw to hold the Sovol toolhead at a fourth point.  This screw is installed from inside the belt raceway and goes into one of the PCB screw holes.  Installing the countersunk screw is optional, but you must remove one screw holding the PCB.  There is an access hole at the back of the carrier for a hex wrench.  You need to drill it out.

BEARING COVERS

I have included 3 different variants of the bearing covers, labeled 8, 10 and 12.  Variant 10 should work with 1.0mm pads.  Variant 8 is 0.2 mm tighter.  Variant 12 is 0.2 mm looser.
If your bearings are stuttering or binding, try the "12" cover.  If you find that a carriage makes a loose buzzing noise when the carriage moves at certain speeds, try the "8" cover.

LICENSING

Prusa Research has released all printable part for the MK4 under the GNU General Public Licences V2.0.  In keeping with this, I am releasing all of my modified designs under the same license.  I am also releasing my from-scratch toolhead carriage design under this license except for the part-cooling fan duct, which is based on Leander Perez Blanco's "Nautilus" design and posted separately under the Creative Commons License.

ISSUES AND PROBLEMS

The toolhead carrier comes very close to the injection moulded Sovol top bar when at maximum Z.  I recommend changing the maximum Z height to 320mm if you do not install a 2020 extrusion.
