These are small modules that will allow you to convert a normal Happ button into an optical button for use with various breakout boards. These have not been tested on IL buttons or any other sort of American style button.
While it has been tested on Brook boards it is primarily designed for GP2040-CE powered devices like the RP2040 Advanced Breakout Board.
You will need +5v for these to work.
There is a fairly small BoM on these:
1 x Optical sensor module board (find link at button)
2 x M2 12mm button top hex bolt
2 x M2 nut
2 x M3 countersunk 12mm hex bolt
4 x pieces of wire
2 x 3D printed spacer parts
1 x 3D printed housing
You will need to de-solder the optical sensor from the board and then solder on some bypass wires. I will leave that up to you, just make sure you match everything and keep it in the right orientation.
There are three versions of the file provided. Low, medium and high actuation. These are represented by the dots on the side of the print. 1 dot = high actuation, 2 dots = medium actuation and 3 dots = low actuation. High actuation means that it will not take much of a press to actuate the button, low actuation means it will take more of a press to actuate the button. It is recommended to start with the 2 dot version and go from there.
These can be printed with most printer settings and profiles but I did mine with a 0.2mm nozzle.
They should be printed side down on the side with the notches in it.
