I liked DDM Juniors idea of the print-in-place hinge, but i want to re-use the screws of the original spool holder.
So i combined it with the holder by OrzOrzOrz.
After printing this version (model file “..bottom-hinge”), i thought it would be nice to get a little more build volume.
So i placed the hinged part on top of the holder (model file “..top-hinge”).
The bottom-hinge version (right item in the photo and slicer screenshot) prints without any support; just print it in the orientation of the STL.
The top-hinge version (left item in the photo and slicer screenshot) needs a little support for the recess of the screw head. If you use Orca slicer you can use sacrificial layer instead. You need to flip the part 180° so the hinge-side is facing down.
