Large Burger Press

I downloaded a burger press that wasn't very big, so I decided to make one without measuring how big it was actually going to be. Turns out a 5" burger is a fairly large burger. Made a couple for my neighbor, and he loved them.

Printing Instructions

I printed this with fairly thick walls and top/bottom (I think it was 8 layers), and about 20% infill. I wanted the plunger to be strong enough to make those nice round patties.

I added gussets around the plunger that were probably unnecessary, but they'll help it from snapping with any side load.

The plunger and the outer ring can be printed at the same time. You can separate them once you upload the STL file to a slicer.

To Use

Fill press with ground meat, press patty, then repeat until desired meat patty thickness is achieved.

Note: a very thick patty will need to be cooked fairly low and slow so the outside doesn't get burnt before the inside is fully cooked.

WARNING

3D prints are not always water tight. If used with raw meat, consider coating the model with a food grade epoxy or wrapping with plastic wrap. There is a good chance meat juices will get between the layers of the print causing bacterial growth.
